Lotus Aurea began on a trip to Varanasi in 2024, with a saree bought not from a store shelf, but from the hands of the weaver who made it.

The Moment It Started
I had bought sarees all my life. But buying one at the source, sitting with the weavers, watching their technique, feeling fabric that had never passed through a warehouse or a retail markup, was a completely different experience. The fabric, the design, the artistry behind every motif: it changed the way I saw this craft forever.
And I kept thinking: why can't I bring this experience home? So many of us in the USA search endlessly for genuinely authentic, quality pieces and settle for imitations because the real thing feels out of reach. Lotus Aurea exists to close that distance.
From the Looms of Varanasi & Chanderi
Every saree in our collection comes directly from the weavers themselves, from the storied workshops of Varanasi, home of the Banarasi weave, and the historic town of Chanderi, whose featherlight silks have draped generations. No middlemen. No mass-produced imitations. When you wear a Lotus Aurea saree, you are wearing weeks of a weaver's patience, skill, and artistry, exactly as it left the loom.
From the Gem Houses of Jaipur
I have always believed gemstones carry a reflection of our lives, they lend elegance and spread an aura around the one who wears them. Our jewelry comes directly from Jaipur, India's city of gems, where each necklace, earring, bangle, and bracelet is handmade by artisans who inherited their craft one generation to the next. No two pieces are quite alike, and that is the point.
