The Weaving Technique

Rangkat is among the most complex Banarasi techniques, where multiple colours are woven seamlessly into the design during weaving itself rather than dyed afterwards. Combined with delicate meenakari — supplementary coloured wefts inserted individually — and extensive zari work, a single saree can take several weeks to complete, making every piece a rare work of handloom art.
