Kora Banarasi silk is woven on traditional pit looms by master weavers of Varanasi, using a sheer, lightly twisted silk yarn that gives the fabric its signature translucence. Silver zari thread is hand-introduced motif by motif using small shuttles, a technique requiring years of training to master. The grand pallu's heritage zari patterns are built up gradually on the loom, often taking several days of dedicated work for a single piece.
