Pattu silk sarees from Chanderi are woven on traditional pit looms using fine, high-twist silk yarn that gives the fabric its signature sheen and crisp drape. The Meenakari butis are created by hand-inserting small amounts of contrast-coloured silk thread into the weave at regular intervals, producing tiny jewel-like flashes of colour within each motif — a technique requiring a steady hand and years of practice. The zari border and pallu are woven separately using a dobby attachment, allowing weavers to build intricate geometric and floral patterns row by row.
